audio 20

hi every body newbie here can you help me i want to put a mercedes standard cd player in my car and was looking at the audio 20 version but iam not sure if it will fit into my c class w203 yr 2000 is it true that this will only fit in the 2004 c class onwards any advice welcomed.

I take it you have the audio 10 cassette unit.
They did an audio10 cd player which would be a straight swap. The Audio 20 is a 'double din' unit. I suspect it would fit physically but how it would wire in is another matter. As you say, they weren't fitted to the 203 until the facelift, which included lots of changes, including the dash cluster. Your best bet really would be to keep the head unit and just add a cd changer in the boot. I had this setup on my 2000 E class and it worked fine. Alternatively, you should be able to get an Audio10 cd from ebay.

The audio 20 will not fit into your car without major modification of the physical structure of the dashboard and major rewiring of the car. The audio 20 is MOST based and your car is D2B. your best bet is to install a CD changer into the glove box or swap the existing unit for a W203 Audio 10 CD.
