Audio 30 Satnav

I have never owned a car with Satnav capability so some advice will be appreciated.

I own a w210 E240 (new spec) with an Audio 30 radio/cd changer.

How does Satnav work? Do I buy a CD from Merc or do I subscribe to a service or do I need something extra installed on the car?

The navigation version is prefixed APS30

As Malcolm says, they are two completely different units. You can buy an APS30 head unit (combined CD player & SatNav) with a GPS aerial for about £250 with original CD maps on eBay. The old one slides out - the new one slides in though you will need to route the aerial to a sensible location and connect a speed pulse and / or reverse signal. The unit will need to be coded to match your car for specifics like CAN bus data display in the instrument cluster if your car supports it etc.

You have the Audio 30 or the Audio 30 APS who are two different units. The Audio 30 has phone keys and the Audio 30 APS is an CD / Nav unit.
