I have a becker head unit in my 500 SEL and want to take it out to check it as not working properly.

No obvious method of it being held in place in car.

Can someone please help and advise me how it is held in place so I do not break something during removal .
Many thanks

Paul

most radios have one of two systems

1) two holes per side - about 1.5" apart above one another. use a coat hanger wire bent into a C shape, insert into holes, just past slight resistance - this allows locks to eb released, unit slides out.

merc have used the otehr system for a while:-

2) two slots (left / right type horizontal) about 1mm thick, 8mm wide. you need a thin item (such as the wifes metal nail file x 2) and slide into the slots. agan, just past resiatance, then unit slides out.
