C180 Kompressor
Hi all

I just bought 2002 C-180 kompressor. I am disapointed with the audio system though. It can only play audio cd.. no Mp3 support etc.

Is it possible to replace this audio system with some latest one?
If not then is there any way I can play mp3 etc?

please suggest :(

Could you post pics of your audio system and name/model. I have the audio10 CD changer system and I play mp3 in mine. Just wondered because I have a C200 Kompressor (W203) and C180/C200 is not that much different in spec I would have thought. I stand corrected if I am wrong.

I use windows media player 11 to burn my mp3 files and they work fine. I have Roxio and Nero but it's too fiddly. WM11 does the job quick and easy for me. Also I use CD-R discs for my system.

Check what discs your player is compatible with. CD-R, CD+R or CD+/-R etc.

it supports CD-R
The problem is it only plays WAV format files and they are so big. So basically 1 cd can have only 9-10 songs :( i am sure you know about bollywood songs :0

I see what is the situation now. Basically the mp3 files I have on my PC, when I burn them with WM11 they are converted from .mp3 to .cda format to play in my car. So I stand corrected - the system does not play mp3 files but .cda.

I assumed it played mp3 because I burn mp3 files via WM11. I take it that you also have audio 10 cd changer system that came with your merc unless you have a different model. I am not sure if there is a firmware upgrade. In any case I have burned up to 19 songs on a single disc. I know mp3 can be stored lots more on a disc but it seems we are stuck with this particular system unless you upgrade to a system that plays mp3.

Find your audio 10 CD player by browsing down the left menu panel on this site: http://www.audio-10.com/
