Hi All,

First off just to say what a great looking forum you have here! And now for my problem?

I have a E320 (2002) and have spent the last 5 days searching the net to solve my problem.

I’ve bought a new head-unit and had to get a adapter as the unit is Jap/USA import single plug, now this is where my problem is! None of the pin-out diagrams I’ve come across match the wiring on the plug in my loom, at the moment I have the original “Audio Cd 10” fitted, The speaker block B matches but block A doesn’t, Pins A2 (Grey wire) A4 (Red with White stripe) A5 (Blue with White stripe) and A8 (Brown) are what I have where as all the diagrams I’ve come across show pin A2 not being used, it’s been a few years since I’ve changed a unit so I’m ok with knowing that the Red and Black wires are the power and ground connections but on the new unit I have a Yellow wire marked car battery +12 volts and a White wire marked panel light, so the help I need is do I have to connect the Yellow & Red wire together or does the Yellow connect to either pin A2 or A5 and what pin do I connect the White panel light wire too?

Any help would be really appreciated because this is now doing my head in.

Hello and welcome to the forum, there are plenty of adapter leads out there, so do not cut any wires.

I will try and find them and post back

Thanks for the quick reply!

Reading back on what I posted I don’t think I made myself too clear, I’ve bought a harness that I can do a custom job on moving the pins around so I won’t be cutting any wires (even though I was tempted until I found a place that I could do a custom pin change around on lol) it’s the original plug coming from my loom that fits into the back of the Audio Cd 10 that has this configuration “block A , Pins A2 (Grey wire) A4 (Red with White stripe) A5 (Blue with White stripe) and A8 (Brown).

Hope that helps.

Welcome to the forum,

The Blue & White is for the Antenna

Brown is Ground (Earth you call it!)

The other two are speakers...

At least they are on my old W126, But I do not believe that they have changed.

Thanks for the reply William, but they can't be speakers because they are all in Socket B and socket A is meant to be for power.
