Auto Adjusting radio volume

99 C280 with CD Changer and tape deck head unit. Don't have model nums.

Trying to figure out how to disable the auto adjusting volume. At low traffic speeds the volume bounces all over the place.

Any input on if you can disable this feature?

Also does anybody have any input on what newer head units will work with the fibre cable that connects the trunk mounted changer?
