Does anybody know the correct proceedure for setting the cable on the auto box of a 210 E240 .

IE what position should the lever be in when setting etc Thanks Paul

Problem is sometimes will not drop into 4th / 5th but does so if I go into N and back to drive

Yes electronic box ,it has a small control cable at the nearside rear of box with a button
type lock mechanism ,according to MB manuals the adjustment can be a cause of my problem but no info as to how to set adjustment .Vin is 210261
