Auto box level check

Hi can anyone help I looked for the atf level check on my e220cdi and I cant find one anywhere, there is a bottle on the ns inner wing but dont know what thats for; can anyone help please.

The filler dip tube is on the offside at the firewall end, it will have a red or black cap fixed to it, 18 in the link

Cheers Malcolm will have a look in the morning, another problem I had recently is the box stuck in first but when I stopped and restarted the engine the car ran ok and thats why I want to check the atf level. Do mercedes use ordinary atf.

Hi Bob, MB use there own special oil.

Sometimes they can lock up and stick until re started, my 129 used to now and then

Your box is a 5 speed 722.6 box, ignore the other number after the .6

Thanks yet again Malcolm, how did you add the signature at the bottom and the other info; btw I have had five sets of nice valve caps but alas all have gone walkies so there are now no caps on and wont be until I can get some theif proof ones.

You just add things to your signature, though you may need to have 30 or so post to be able to do this.

Thank you found the dip stick tube only to find there is no dipstick in it just a cap, I wonder how much one of those is going to cost? and can you only get them from MB?
