Auto Box

Hi All

I have a problem with my ’97 C180 auto box, it won’t change down properly. I find that at junctions etc I come to a near halt and then move on and its still in third and won’t kick down unless I floor it. Then it reluctantly moves and revs its guts out then won’t change up until I back right off, it’s a real pain in the a***.

I got two options as I see it, dump it or get the box looked at. Does anyone know of a good auto box specialist within 50-70 miles of Stafford?

To update my thread I have booked the car into Automatic Transmissions (Huddersfield), I'll let you all know what happens.

Well I took the car and it was low on oil its fine now, it had gone into partial recovery mode.

Its not a big place but they knew there stuff.
