Auto Central Locking W210

For the last few weeks, my W210 (E-200 Elegance, 1997) no longer automatically locks the doors when I start the drive the car. Anybody experienced a similar problem and know what to do.

its probably been accidently dissabled switch on the igntion and hold down the lock button on the dash for 5 seconds to reativate locking whilst driving off

Just to clarify, I need to put the key into the ignition and press lock for 5 secs to reactive or do I need to press the central locking button on the dash, next to the warning triangle.

It should also mention it in the owners manual
