Can any tell me if I can purchase from MB the dipstick for checking the gearbox oil level on my W210

Also do I assume that the dipstick for my wife's SLK would be different

Thanks in advance

I do..... The part number on mine is 140 15 21.

When you check the level....

1. Engine running
2. After it has warmed up fully. 20 min road test
3. Don't over fill it

Hope this helps

Hello

My Mercedes dealer initially refused to sell me the dipstick saying it wan't a part it was a workshop tool and they didn't sell these to customers. I said that was silly and I wasn't paying anyone to check the oil for me. Gave them the part number, and after a bit more of a friendly grumble they gave in.

Is there a clip / cover that needs replacing on the dip stick tube every time the level is checked?
