At the mo my car can fold it's mirros by pressing the button on the console. Is there a way to get it to automaticaly fold the mirrors say when I lock the car?

Any advice welcomed.

Do you have memory seats?
Do you press and release to fold the mirrors?

If yes to both questions then the probability is high you can have auto-fold mirrors.

Why do you need auto fold mirrors? This is the first car I have had with electrically folding mirrors (not auto I have to press the button like you) and I've never found a time to use them.

I can imagine if you park on the road then you could use them. It would worry me about wearing them out with the folding every time I locked the car. The wire to the heater only has a limited life and folding in and out all the time is not going to do it any favours :) Especially in the cold.

It's a great visual aid, confirming the car has been locked :D

You can see from across the car park.....

Not on that car methinks. I have one touch folding on my 2004 W209 and it can't be done on it. I seem to recall that it's something to do with the controllers in earlier than mid 2004 cars.:(

Paul,

You should find that the dashboard menu would give you the option to set the mirrors to fold when the car is locked - though it sounds as though you would be unlikely to use this.

As practising geriatric I too find it comforting to check that I have locked the car without having to walk all the way back ..........

The W210 I had with memory seats didn't have one touch folding mirrors & I doubt that the W210's are capable of it.
As for the wires there are a lot more wires going into the drivers door and there isn't really an issue of those breaking so I wouldn't worry about that. I would (& do) use silicon spray on the mechanism to keep it smooth as it can get slow & stiff without it.

Yup, I do this every 2nd or 3rd wash. Also my dealer lubes the mechs during services. ;)
