I have been given a Wooden Gear Stick for my 1995 E220 Cabriolet. I can remove the outer trim but can anyone explain how I remove the inside housing, so I am able to release the lock nuts which holds the threaded gear stick. Thanks in advance for any help. Andy

You just rotate the little bit of plastic at the bottom of the gear lever, just at the top of the chrome 'stick'. Use a big pair of pliers and lots of soft cloth.
