auto gearbox query

i have a 55 reg C200k and have noticed the gear box seems to change up really quickly i.e as soon as you slacken off the revs slightly (even going up hills) and seems slow to kick back down unless you stamp on it a bit, been told the gearbox adapts to your driving style and as i have only had the car a month wonder if it has adapted to the previous owners driving style, if so is there a way of resetting it or does it have to go to mb, or is it just the characteristics of the box would appreciate a bit of advice, thanks

if its still the same as the box on my car just take it for an enthusiastic drive an the ecu adapts to how you drive the car no need to involve mb thankfully
