Auto gearbox settings on C200 (1994)

Hi there everyone,

I'm a newbie to this forum and to MB.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the E and S settings on my 1994 C200 Auto stand for?

No manual came with the car, which reminds me......... does anyone know where I could get one :sad:

Hi again,
Did you get your coolant level light to go out ?.
The S/E switch on the console alters the gearbox characteristics; S is standard , the car will drive like a normal automatic only much smoother being a Mercedes Benz ; E is economy, the car will pull away in second gear and the upward gearchanges will occur at lower revs giving a more relaxed feel ,this position is useful in slippery conditions where the driven wheels are liable to lose grip.
Don't know where you could source a handbook apart from an MB main dealer, there was someone looking for one a couple of days ago, there were none on Ebay and no one here could help.

i have a 95 C200 auto manual for my car. i could try and photocopy it for you in work seeing as i do a lot of work during the day anyways lol

have you not tried ebay for your manual, there always alot floating about there.

Yes have tried eBay almost on a daily basis for a few weeks. Plenty of manual as you say, but not one for a 1994 C200 Auto!! :-(

I would have thought the manuals would cover both the manual and the auto. Here are a couple on ebay;
