Auto gearbox

Hi, my 2007 W221 S320 Cdi auto gearbox is starting to play up, it feels a bit jerky when going up or down the gear selection, also had a problem getting it in to reverse, any idea as to the problem would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

The fact you had an issue going into reverse is what would concern me thinking is not a fluid issue, even if its over due a gearbox service.

IIRC Botus had an issue getting gears in his w221 which was resolved with a wheel speed sensor.

My autobox on my w221 behaved a little funny after a full service and a gearbox service. After a new set of wheel speed sensors and a T87 relay all is well.

Thanks for all your replies, it could well be a speed sensor, as occasionally my cruise plus hold and steering pump would stop working

Had it serviced at prestige auto at Horndean last year

Did they service the gearbox

Have you had the codes read even if no EML is on?

Worst case could be a conductor plate as iirc that includes a speed sensor for something IIRC.

Yes,they did service the gearbox and a few other components
