I have an A160 2004 model. The electric front window on the drivers and pasengers side does not open unless I keep pressure on the relevant switch. I am sure I have heard that some sort of reset can be done to enable the auto close option. Any information on how to do a reset please??

if you dont have a manual for it and nobody answer, next time you are dashing past a MB dealer, call in and ask...they will tell you. You may get coffee while you are in too.

  • Hold 'down button' down and for 5 seconds more after window has opened
  • Hold 'up button' up and for 5 seconds more after window has closed
  • Repeat first step
Do interupt during either of the 3 steps
This is the procedure for window reset

I suspect that this is not the problem, but no harm in trying
Maybe there is no open lock on the A-Class.
I'll ask my sister-in-law during the week.

hi,

am not sure but i think my old R170 only had a downward opener. you push the button beyone the stop and it set off on its own down. but i remember getting abit cheesed off holding it for the up motion. the SEAT revious did tho.

The new R171 auto opens/closes on both windows.
