Auto rear door opener

Hi
I have a 2012 E class estate, the rear door has stopped opening properly. It opens about half way then stop and make a grating noise when opened manually. It closes properly automatically.
Anybody had this problem and how do I fix it?

E220 Estate tailgate wobbles at close

On my W212 2014 E220 Estate the electric tailgate wobbles when it closes. Opening is no problem, the movement is smooth and fine. But when it close the movement varies between faster and slower. Is it a problem with the motor(s) or the hydralic gas springs (struts)?

Do you mean lubricate the gas struts or the motor mechanism itself?

Dont rule out the pinch strips.

My W251 would be sporadic in opening and closing the boot electrically a few years back. sometimes halfway, sometimes a few cm. Manually it was fine.

Got my icarsoft out - a short on a pinch strip (dont recall the side). I replaced both as a precaution. Been A ok ever since.

The strips were ****** expensive - considering its a wire in a sheath. An easy enough job to do.
