AutoAid - an alternative to the AA, RAC, Green Flag etc

If you're not familiar with AutoAid they are an incredibly cheap breakdown organisation that offer an excellent service. Just £36 a year will provide you with At Home, Roadside and Relay plus other services for you and your spouse in any car. The catch? You'll need to keep a credit card (or have cash) with you as you must pay for any assistance at the time you require it and then claim it back. I have used them once and they were faultless and my money was fully reimbursed in less than a week.

I have a similar arrangement (pay & reclaim) with GEM, though rather more expensive, and again the service has been very good - it's the same garage for home start as Green Flaf were using. I think they are around £75 a year for two of us with two cars, including home start.
