Automatic carwash auto gears

C200 Automatic 2007. I have been told that using an automatic car wash which pulls the car IN NEUTRAL for about 10 metres could damage its health.

Can any car doctor advise. Thanks Grev

Hi,
Personally, i would,nt even consider an auto car wash, there c**p I.M.O. They can damage the paintwork and leave swirls in the paintwork with prolonged use.
But answering your question it should,nt damage the internals of the gearbox.

No it wont damage the gearbox only prolonged towing or freewheeling can damage the autobox

And as andy I wouldnt even consider one of those robotic things and they never open the doors to wash in around the shuts

Car washes are for the lazy buggers who have too much spare money I M O or generous expense accounts.........REPS.

Or have better things to do with their valuable spare time, than to wash ****** cars..!!

BTW - I would NEVER use an auto-wash (I have seen car bits entangled in the rollers) I visit a HAND car wash.
