Very occasionally (I hope) the choke seems to stay on (high rev). I have noticed this a few times when I would come to a stop long after initial warm up and normal tick over speed had been reached.
Any ideas

Dont have chokes, but you do have an enrichment device, if the revs stay at 1200 when hot the chances are is that it is the throttle switch not switching over to the idle cicuits

Sorry about the old fashioned terminology, but the effect is the same. If it is what you say is it difficult/expensive to repair and do I need a mechanical or electrical person .
Tks for info and help.

It does not have an idle switch. It is all ECU controlled. I suspect the throttle flap is shafted. Try cleaning it.
