Automatic transmission fluid

Hi I’m new on here. Just have a general question about Automatic transmission fluid.
I have 2010 ML500. It has only 34,000 on the clock, so very low miles. It has full service history. There is no record of the auto trans fluid of filter being changed, I’m guessing because of the low miles.
I am unsure if the ATF needs to be changed now it’s 10 years old? There are NO issues with gear changing etc.

It would be due at 37500 miles anyway , just get it done now by a specialist . ATF change £200-250 , new gearbox £4000

Once upon a time, they were supposed to be " Filled for Life", and never to be interfered with, but then they started to give a bit of trouble, and MB backtracked and claimed that they never said whose Life they were talking about, so now depending on model and year, the average is 40'000 Miles. But in a 10 year old car, even one with very low mileage, its a good idea to have a change and flush carried out. Then you will have peace of mind at least. But make sure that it's a complete change and flush, and not just the oil pan....there is a Torque Converter, Oil cooler radiator and pipes to be flushed as well, As Wighty says at £4'000, its a pricey fix if you need to replace it.
