Afternoon all. I am going to be doing the Aux (serpentine) Belt on the A207 as its due and I've noticed a slight squeaking so suspect possible tensioner / pulley. I've asked Grangemouth for a price for a 'kit'. Meantime though aside of the belt itself, what do I need in terms of the 'kit' i.e. tensioner, pulley etc?

I'd also change the idler - My M272 (same as yours but missing a cylinder or two...) had the idler fail, the tensioner started squeaking a week later - best to do both in one go.

Link to the thread I did below;

OK chaps. So all kit arrived from MB Grangemouth. Started car today to take out of garage to do the job - what the hell - the ruddy belt has SHEARED OFF! So long story short, moved car to front drive as safe to do so. Like steering the General Belgrano! Investigated and the top pulley has destroyed itself together with the belt! That explains the squeek then! Thankfully, not in the middle of nowhere. Will post pics later of destroyed bits! So its 2pm now and I've replaced both pulleys. I can't for the life of me get to replace the tentioner. Just no room. Do any of you guys know how to remove the fan cowel and fan assembly? It's the only way I'll be able to get in there. I'd think the fan assembly is the same set up as an E Class coupe C207. Any advice welcome.

Done! Using long Ratchet, managed to remove old tensioner and fit new. Very tight space in there, arms very red. So, replaced the two pulleys, tensioner and belt. Result = very happy me and most satisfactory result. Took on a test run about 5 miles and all good. Now, back in the garage until April with you! But fancy the pulley failing as soon as I started up, you couldn't make that up could you. I will photograph the destroyed pulley and belt for those interested, the pulley is completely seized.

Mine destroyed itself as I arrived home, very convenient :)
