Hi All!
I posted my prob regarding the auxillary fan being on all the time. Well the prob stayed there for the past 3 weeks, after replacing about everything short of the fan and centre a/c switches. Anyway, one of the forum members..Erop, pointed me to a US website where this guy hotwired the AF to cut-in at a lower than normal temp. So..I thought why not since the fault could not be detected even by a MB speciallist here.
Anyway, after doing the modification, guess what the A/F returned to normal operations, i.e. following a/c usage and when engine temp goes up. My question to you all is since the a/f is cooling down the engine all the time instead and bypassing the normal way via the electromagnetic clutch fan (EMF), will it harm the engine in the long run especially the EMF mechanicals :?:
What the hotwire does is kicking-in the a/f at 92C and cools down the engine to around 82C. The EMF will usually kick in at 103C and brings down to 85C+. Therefore, the EMF never gets to be used at all :!: The hotwire virtually keeps the engine below 100C everytime even in a hot day and stop-go driving. Any thoughts from forum members is highly appreciated. Thanks all and have a nice day. Cheers!
