Is it just me or do people not understand what that means??

Driving up and down the M27 all day where they have these at the moment, people see the camera, slow down, then speed up and slow down at the next one,

Sorry , but average speed means only one thing to me! the speed you do between the two cameras!!!!!

It's not you. It's just that 90% of motorists are morons. :)

And mostly middle-lane morons, too!!

The other one that fool people is the advisory speed.

All in white advisory,, red circle round it and thats the max

I always use Distronic, that way I can set it to 50 or whatever silly speed it is, but if the car in front slows so do I.

All I do is set that SpeedTronic Limiter to the speed limit and drive away, at the limit (sometimes get the dash to also display the speed on the digital screen) only having to break or slow if the person in front is driving like a n00b

You're quite right Cole.

This is "Careless driving" and can be prosecuted (probably an on the spot fine and 3 points). The scarcity of police on the roads means this will be unlikely, but they may need to up their game, especially if increased use of average speed cameras leads to a surge in rear end collisions for this reason.

So, its not just rude, its unlawful.

Ahem .. my girlfriend ..speeding past one I realised that it was specs and the next one would confirm the lap times ..so a quick calculation left me with 10 mins to spare so how does one spend ten mins at least with a pretty girl in the car.. ahemm ..so she wasnt driving but she got done for speeding past a specs camera.. :D

We had a pretty member called Hanz on the forum a while back, 19 years old and very shapely and tasty. I drove her some 470 miles altogether,,you could not think what you were doing or where you were going with her in the car,,I got clocked at 101 mph on the 303, but got out of that one. Women :confused::confused: nice arn't they

Malcolm!

Perhaps you should have kept your Hanz to yourself? :)
