I'm after some help!
I recently bought an automatic B180 11 plate for my wife. Due to my complete lack of knowledge on cars it had a fair few issues. The car would go into limp mode on almost every journey she went on. We had the car diagnosed at an independent Mercedes garage and it came back with plenty of issues. The throttle body needed replacing, this has now been done. This then threw up issues with the EGR which I have since had cleaned and the car seems to drive alot better and now goes into limp mode a lot less, however still goes into limp mode.
The latest issue the car comes up with the error message Transmission Error consult workshop. This must be due to the error code 0896 which came up on the initial diagnosis. I'm hitting a bit of a brick wall with where to go next with the car.
What is the usual fix for this error code and is there a straight forward fix?
I don't know if it's time to give up on the car!
