Hi all, I have a 2017 B Class, the windscreen pump works for the back window but not for the front, any ideas? Doesn't seem to be blocked...

Separate pumps?

if not, take the hose off and see if it pumps without the hose on, as it could be a blocked jet at rear - get a set of ‘pricks’ off eBay, a blocked pipe, or check that when operated water doesn’t drain out the boot door - hose slipped off connection.

I've not needed to look on my car, but previous cars & other cars I've had dealings with tend to have just one pump for both screens, spins one way for the front & backwards for the rear. Can you hear the pump run for both screens?

Rear is working, front not guys!! If it's anything like my S204 it's one pump and 2 outlets for front and back, I think pump spins one way for front and opposite way for back, but could be wrong. I recently had to replace the pump on the S204, bought a cheapie from eBay, local mechanic swopped them out quite easily and cheaply (£20CIH!!). MB seem to put their pumps front NS behind the front of the wheel arch liner, I'm told you can get enough access just by putting the wheels on full RH lock rather than having to take the NS wheel off - but don't quote me as I did not do the job myself.

Before going for pump replacement, look under the bonnet for the pipework to the front jets, trace it to the OS of the wiper and on the end you may find a plastic plug you can remove to blow air through the pipe and see if you get air out of the nozzles and bubbling sound in the bottle, showing the line is clear!

Similar to the fault with the screen wash on the Fiat that Emily used to have. Fiat in their infinite wisdom only sell the pump complete with a washer bottle at over £100. I piddled about replacing the pump with aftermarket stuff I had lying around. In the end, after much faffing, it turned out to be the in-line none return valve to the windscreen, replaced it with just a joining tube .... sorted.

I previously had a faulty OS jet on the S204, MB only sell the complete system of pipes and nozzles from pump to end at a ridiculous price, I was able to buy second user from a breaker and, with a modicum of BF&BI, remove the pipe from the OS nozzle (having been able to practise on what I bought from the breaker) and replace just the faulty bits - for about 1/4 of what MB wanted for the full shebang. Plus I still have the remainder of what I bought in case of future nozzle problems!
