I know. But I can select the mode I want. Why does it default to a different mode just because of temperature? I've bought a plug in hybrid because I want to use electric as much as possible. Let me choose!Battery performance drops when the air temperature drops.
Best temp for a EV lithium-ion battery is between 15 & 35C, you cant change science.I know. But I can select the mode I want. Why does it default to a different mode just because of temperature? I've bought a plug in hybrid because I want to use electric as much as possible. Let me choose!
I know I get less miles per KWh but I still want the choice. Why doesn't it allow me to make the decision?Best temp for a EV lithium-ion battery is between 15 & 35C, you cant change science.

Hello and welcome,
The parameters are not being met to enable the mode you want unfortunately. EV’s and Hybrids are great in the brochure and design lab, not quite so great in reality.
Heating settings is probably triggering the engine to kick in for additional power.
I can run in EV mode. It just doesn't select it by default. If I can run in EV mode when I select it. Why won't it do it by default? It also defaults to hybrid mode when I turn the heating and AC offPretty much answered
It's just software defaults. When we had the very hot weather it defaulted to hybrid. Why can't I choose how I use the car? I want to choose the mode I drive in not Merc.Battery voltage could be down?
Why can't the all fangled confusion system just say that on display.?? U know keep the driver informed,. Ie message.. Its too f cold firing up the motor will giv u options as ambient improves...
