I had a check of when next year this might be due, and for the first time this is not in days, but mileage, so, B7 - 12500 miles. Is this showing mileage and not days because of a recent 880 mile round trip?

Could be, it works on what comes first, so if it’s noticed higher miles it switches to mileage. If you drop miles it reverts to days… Can’t miss out on the servicing revenue…;)

Cheeky of MB to change the service interval from the 203 to the 204 from 15.5k miles/2 years to 15.5k miles/ 1 Year!! 15.5k miles is 2 years for us, so on the 204 I ignore Assyst, before I had the car serviced last Monday, every time I turned the ignition on the message "service overdue by ..... days" (I think it had got to 380!) came up!

Both my W203 and W204 were yearly servicing intervals

Maybe yours was a later car than my 2001 S203, and the change came earlier than I thought - maybe with the 203 facelift.

A year or 3 back, either on here or t'other side, one of the indies (IIRC) posted a list of what all the different service indicators meant. Needless to say I can't remember anything more about it, so good luck if you try searching both forums!

To their credit BMW still advise 16k miles or a 2 year oil change interval (there is also an onboard oil monitor with a countdown). I’d never go 15k between oil changes mine does about 5k miles biannually so suits me. BMW oil is labelled ‘Longlife’ whether there are extra additives is debatable. I did stick with the BMW franchise for 3 years for servicing but became tired of the continual upselling so look elsewhere or do it myself.

MB franchises for obvious reasons disliked the 2 year service interval.

Not another transmission fluid change  I wonder if after 9 it goes back to 0?

  • Mercedes-Benz A9 Service or Mercedes-Benz B9 Service – Add on automatic transmission oil replacement, transmission filter replacement, and brake fluid replacement

I wouldn’t worry , if you use an Indy they will look at previous records and do only what is necessary ( didn’t you just have a gearbox service ? )
At least That’s what I do from my own paper records .

I need to check, would I think it was done about a year ago. I'm happy to rely on these indications and the indie to take care of the rest.

If the indy uploaded it all correctly the put your details in here and it should tell you what is needed
