Welcome to the Forum. I have 1 grandaughter (plus another due in April) and she/they will be sitting in Recaro Young Sport from www.capitalseating.co.uk Might be worth giving them a call - they are extremely helpful (and cheap too :p)

Hello,

Welcome, I sold my BMW 330 convertible kiddig myself it woould be practical with our baby. Yes I got the seat it but it was like that advert where the guys fitting it in the Corvet and then changes his quote for a people carrier.

The seat did go in and wife quashed up in the back, pram fills the boot, nappy bag etc. NOT good. Yes WE could have done it but certainly not comfortable and not for our trips to Europe.

Hence BM sold, welcome the 'Bus' (ML)

However back to the seat, We have a Maxi Cosi car seat with a base station in each car. Uses Isofix or Seat belts. Base station stays in car fixed and we just click in the car seat. No phaffing with seatbelts taking out or putting in.

Having one fixed in both our cars is very easy to use I would recommend them. OOh and it bit in the BM so should fit in a clk (the seats in the back of the bm were tiny and you sit very low....

Heres the kit

well recomend this :)

OOh update also,

When you bought it from the shop did they not test it? The shop we bought ours from woudl not let us buy it if it did fit and locked into place. They even rang Mxi Cosi to check the base was able to be fitted in a 3 series convertible :)

Are you able to switch the airbags off the CLK for front seat use or is it going in the back like ours was?

You will also soon get fed up if you park anywhere nr another car and have to try and open the lage door of a coupe, move seat forward and scable over the rear to attach seat :( even more fun in the rain and the baby crying.....

It maybe hard but a more practical car in the baby sence maybe on the cards?.... (sorry)

I reckon once our little one can at least walk / scramble (3 yrs old say) we will look at a fun car again...I do mis the convertible although have to say look the room and drive the ML gives :) Swallows the pram, shopping and all our kit.

I had the same problem with a rear facing baby seat my E320 coupe. By tilting the babyseat backwards (forwards from the baby's point of view), I could just about get the seatbelt round it. No problems now that he's big enough to be facing forwards.

Nay Nay Nay - and thrice more Nay.!

Little One will be able to travel safely in a specific safety cot/swingy thingy for newborns. Go to www.capitalseating.co.uk and have a surf.

ANYTHING but a ****** Yaris - yuk.yuk.yuk.puke..!!

And your newborn would object too - hope all goes well for you both. Enjoy! :-D

Chicco go one fits well

I've bought and am using Chicco go one, since he became 6 months old, have it on the back seat behind where my wife sits, it's front facing. Wife has little leg room but she's fine. Can still get the front seat comfortably back, a lot, for other guest passengers when the baby is not in the car seat. The nice thing is it seems like a perfect fit not pinching the back seats leather fits into the inner middle nicely. The people selling it allowed me to try it first, and had the top down so it was easy to try multiple options.

Late post but i did check it before buying as well, so might still help somebody
