Sold my beautiful Merc SL350 6-7 months ago as I was dropping from three cars to two and the SL didn't really cut it as a 2nd car and popping to Tesco's in it for me (it was mint and I'd have been so peed off when it got inevitable dings and scrapes of life). Bought an Audi A3 cabrio', great car, nippy, cheap to run but...... just a bit bland really. My wife tended to use my Defender (the new model) for work and I used the Audi as I had dropped to part-time working.
Then my wife's company decided they were going to up sticks and move 45 miles away with no notice and didn't care if staff went with them. She voted with her feet and got another job but needed a car so she now has an Evoque, I have my Defender back and teh cabrio' is the sunny days and high days weekend toy again, time for something a bit more interesting
So I've just bought a lovely A124 E320 cabrio. Great all round condition with a wad of receipts and a lot of bills for achille's heels and aging work been carried out between 2017 and 2020.
Picked her up yesterday and she drove 140 miles, mostly motorway, at a steady indicated 80mph no issues, just wafted along with little wind buffeting with the roof down.
Had a lot of options boxes ticked when new but oddly no cruise so want to see if that is retrofittable along with a new head-unit as it has a Halfords special in at present. I'd prefer something more discreet but with DAB, streaming, phone capability.
I love the look of these from the front and front 3/4 view, think they can look a bit ungainly from rear 3/4 view due to length of rear side panel but overall its lovely with armchair seats and a arm-on-the-window-ledge driving style to waft around in
