That looks pretty grim.
I'd be draining the tank and changing filter before doing anything else.
Hopefully crud hadn't blocked the injection unit.

How long since it last ran?

. I’m no mechanic
Thanks for the photo. Brought back memories of my encounter with a Bosch Jetronic fuel distributor.
I take it that you do have a spark. Are the plugs clean and dry..?
I take it you have checked for fuel at the injectors..?

You car needs a full tank clean but might be to late now if that cruds got in to the fuel distributor and injectors .
If I remember, there is a filter inside the pipe taking fuel to the fuel distributor, the type used on a washing machine.

Full day of work on it today. No luck still. I siphoned out most of the tank and put new fuel in (ambitious). Tiny bit of fuel came out of what I assume is the fuel return (circled red) after that nothing else. Jumped fuel relay, still nothing coming out. At one point the fuel in line (circled green) was spewing out fuel until it almost filled a 10L can. After that nothing. Injectors were bone dry. I can confirm that one of the two fuel pumps works. Did get it to idle whilst dumping starter fluid but it knocked like nothing i’ve ever heard the second you touch the accelerator. I’ll write a clearer review tomorrow morning. It’s 11:45pm.

Cheers

It will knock if you have ,, a cylinder Or cylinders vacant and doing nothing . Have you moved the ht leads at any time ? You need to check spark on all the plugs . Leads to the plugs might be playing up or even disributor top and rotor. What was the old fuel like ,it can block the entire fuel injection system up with crud from the tank . I would do nothing till yiou get nice clean fuel exiting the engine .

Fuel wont flow till number 7 and 8 is hard wired on the fuel pressure relay do this for test only ,,so remove it after or fuel will still get in to the engine .
I did that and fuel pumps ran however fuel wasn’t being pushed out of anywhere whilst it was happening.

I think you problem is a gummed up fuel distributor .Lots of info on youtube how to do this , but will need all refurb kit , and the job is not for the faint hearted Did you pull the main feed to the F/D ? .. Fuel runs though the filter from the fuel pump and an acumulator before it gets to the f/d so its from pump to injection system that might be blocked .. Have you pulled a fuel pipe from the pump to see if its delivering fuel .Dont go on to ht side its fuel problem you have get this right first .

Quick check up now. Fuel Pressure Regulator is suspicious. High reassure stream of fuel coming from the green side and nothing coming out of either red lines. Tried sucking on the vacuum line and nothing. I suspect high pressure is from fuel tank heating up? Because there was nothing coming out of this hose when I had it running with the fuel pump. Fill me in if i sound like an idiot right now

Also is the filler cap on the tank ?
Sorry didn’t see this. Yes cap is on. I think it may be between filter/tank and distributor. Refer to my post just then. I think I’ll start cleaning when i’m next here properly.

Cheers

You should get fuel from the red line with key on or if pressure in green line.
Does sound like the regulator is blocked.
Not sure what you mean about the tank heating up?

That looks wet where the green arrow is, indicating a leak, also looks wet at the bottom end of the elbow, run you finger across, is it fuel?

Yes it is. I cracked the nut open because I was going to replace it. However didn’t bring anything to contain the fuel so had to do it back up.
