Hi Guys

There seems to be a bad smell of burnt diesel in the car when idling ...or driving very slowly not sure where it's coming from? It due to a service in a few weeks... can you adjust the flow of diesel or is it done automatically? I would say it might be running rich ?

thanks

Take the top plastic engine cover off and have a look for anything obvious

As above the undertrays help hide where leaks come from .

If it is burnt diesel then the leak will be post combustion , check for leaking injectors , manifold , exhaust as has already been mentioned.

I had a similar issue with my other car and it turned out to be a push-on fitting for the crankcase ventilation system that had came adrift , once refitted the smell was gone.

A work colleague also had the smell that turned out to be a leaking injector seal which was clearly visible and audible once the top plastic engine cover was removed , a few ££ for a new copper washer from the Citreon dealer sorted his problem out.
