can anybod give me i bit of advice. have just fitted a new vacuum pump and drive sprocket to my e class 250 diesel and now it sounds like one of the pistons is going to come through the side of the engine.before fitting the pump it was as sweet as a nut .i zip tied the timing chain to the cam cog and a dab of paint on the chain and old drive sprocket and carried the marks over to the new one but i think the timing may be out.any ideas.thanks.

I think you've answered your own question with the timing. You may have the valve timing OK but the pump timing is critical. I believe there is a special tool with a light on it, to time them up.
