Yup, driving through the mean streets of Hackney - a noise like a stone hitting the windscreen. Stopped. Jumped out, fearing airgun attack by the natives. Car body/paintwork absolutely unmarked. Got in, drove on. Over the next few days noticed a clunking sound when turning left on usual uneven London road surfaces. Thought it time to look underneath - perhaps the steering damper going?
Nope! Broken rollbar bracket on n/s chassis member. Dang!!!!!!!

they are a common failure - take about 20 minutes to change and cost less than £15

I've replaced both of mine in the last 12 months
