Hi
I'm new to this game (Forums..) and new to meddling with my car, but maybe the two are a good match!
I have just changed the battery on my E220 Diesel. Went fine except I now have a BAS and ABS warning. I am assuming it is because power was lost during the changeover and it needs to be reset. Can anyone please help?

The battery I was given to put in was the same as previous except that it said 80ah and not 100ah - what does this mean and does this matter?
Many thanks
Chris

New to the MB forum as well so hi! Can't answer your first query but can the second. 80ah means 80 amp hours, which means that it will supply 80 amps into a test load for 1 hour, under certain conditions of ambient temp etc. The other battery 100 ah similarly, which means that the 100 ah is the bigger capacity for power storage.
In practice the car starter will be drawing 400 or 500 amps in short bursts of the ignition key. It's impractical to rate batteries in terms of their capacity to deliver many 100's of amps, so the amp hour system as above is used. Your 80ah may be OK in the summer but might struggle on a cold winter morning.

BAS and ABS warning

You may have to reset the power steering position sensor - this is reset by turning the steering from lock to lock, I believe with key in position 2, on some models you only need to do this once, but some people suggest doing it 3 times.
Its also recommended to do this whilst moving the car slowly instead of at a standstill to avoid stress on steering components, tyres etc.

I would re connect again with the Key out and see if it re sets.

You should not have any problem with the 80 amp battery, A fully charged smaller battery is far more efficient the a partly charged large one
