Hello All,

I replaced my CLK's battery earlier this evening, everything was fine until I noticed the BAS/EPS amber light stays on.

Could I have blow a fuse?

Does anyone know where the fuse box is / have a link to explain which fuse does what?

I have a 2000 CLK 2.3

Thanks’ in advance.

Start the engine and turn the steering from lock to lock a couple of times, if it does not work, re connect battery again.

Thanks Television, it worked -- I should have RTFM before beginning!

When driving to work this morning I also made the mistake of putting the window down and of course it didn't come back up because it needed resetting - got rather cold, wet and mad!

Anyway here's the sequence to reset the windows -- note the ignition key position and time to keep the window key pressed, (I’ve seen a few posts which differ from the manual, but this method worked for me):

1. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to position 1.
2. (Assuming the window is fully down), keep pressing the window UP button until it comes fully up (it will only move about 1cm per press).
3. When it's fully up hold the window UP button for 1 second to set the position (you'll hear the window motor make a very quiet click when you press the button and another quiet click after the second is up).

….just like entering a game cheat combination! Hold the button for a further 2 seconds for a power up and lasers ;)

So, the things to look out for after you’ve disconnected the battery:
• BAS / EPS warning light – steering direction sensor needs resetting
• Windows need calibrating
• Seat memories need resetting
• Clock
• Radio code
• Sunroof
• Mirrors
