Have you tried resetting by turning the steering from side to side a few times. This is normally done after disconnecting the battery to reset these lights. Maybe you have a dodgy fuse

On mine which is a w210 E320 cdi it was in the side of the dash accessible with the door open. It happened to me when I plugged a trailer in and shorted the brake lights. All the BAS and ESP lights came up. I replaced the fuse and did the steering turning and the lights went out.

Can also be caused by a faulty steering angle or wheel speed sensor. Brake switch (or worn brake pads) could be the obvious fix, but best get the codes read on an MB specific diagnostic and it will save guesswork.....

you need to look at the fuse chart and find the fuse for the circuit to determine the fuse and then location.

you need a merc specific code reader. were parts genuine merc. Mercs are sensitive to non genuine merc parts.

Rac came out and done the diagnostic said itcwas sensors but done them
If there was a code in the BAS/ABS/ESP module, that said wheel speeds sensor fault, and its not them, then its the reluctor rings on the driveshafts, but unlikely to be all 4.,.......

..........ive changed brake switch and the lights were off for a few miles then came on again.
So changing the brake switch did have an effect. Do you mind taking the switch out and fitting it again.
If you go down this path, please put up a picture, especially if there is some sort of a ratchetting system on it.
I guess you just test the brake lights coming ON to prove that the switch is working.
What year is the car.?
