Nothing to do with the steering wheel at all, was the cluster you fitted the correct one

I know this is an old thread, but just to enlighten those with the same issues as me:-
My symptoms disappeared and so I ignored the solution, but when I took the ML for an oil service at my local Indie, I asked him to check for fault codes.
He advised me that there was a fault indicated on the rear nearside wheel sensor. I haven't replaced it yet, but presumably the symptoms will reoccur next winter and then hopefully it will then be a simple fix.
Strangely enough, I have a Vivaro van that developed an ABS fault in the coldest part of winter and that turned out to be a wheel sensor too. I am surprised that a component with no moving parts can fail like that, but it seems to be the case.

I have a current fault again with my V70R, the sensors all measure spot on, I have just bought a secondhand pump to see if that sorts it out
