i'll keep it short and simple. re. my bas warning light on my 1999 w210 e300 td where is the BAS diaphragm sensor located? is it possible to check it without a code reader and if so, how is this done?

Hi Pete,just change the brake lamp switch that sits over the brake pedal £10 and easy to fit

already done. when it was mentioned in my previous thread, i thought it was a different sensor. changing it made no difference to it though. light still comes on as before. that was about 3 months ago so surely the code shouldnt still be a current code if that was the fault? im really struggling with this and its driving me nuts! even more than my rattle! anything else common on them?

It does say that the fault code does have to be erased, though not many have to, there are ESP faults listed but not BAS on its own, it may be have to be plugged into STAR with an indie

An indie should not charge more than £30 max, at least a fault code will come out of it
