Sometimes.

It depends on the fault code.

if you mean brake light switch issues, then yes. However, as above, it does depend on the codes. Still for less than a tenner it's always worth a shot.

The 203 is the odd one out here as the brake light switch does not function in the same way

Some do not have a brake light switch (as we know it). Some have a pressure switch in the master cylinder. These rarely give any problems.
They should learn from this but they haven't:-(
