Hi all

Fairly new on here, I have recently bought a 320 cdi estate 52 plate W210.

Over the past 2 weeks on 4 or 5 occasions I have had an error message "battery alternator visit workshop".

When I turn off the ignition the fault goes away and does not reoccur, sometims for several days.

Does anyone have any ideas to help me before I make the dreaded call to MB?

Many thanks

great forum.

Do you know of a good Indie local to Oxford, Malcolm? I'd certainly be interested. As for warning sign, could be just battery. I had some really odd faults such as the cruise not working on the odd occasion and other odd things, all cleared up with a new battery. I think voltage readings are taken at start-up and various items inhibited if reading is low.

The only one that I know is Chris Gray in Wendover I understand that he is good

For electrics go to a Boch service center they are good and ½ the MB price

PS MAlcolm - what happens at Beaulieu?

We meet up have a chat, look at each others car, discuss have a coffee, wander around the museum have a meal. In all very easy going

The nice thing is that you talk over the forum in a different way when you have met someone
