Battery change problem

Just dropped in the new starter battery but in trying to replace the clamp I have dislodged the retaining nut under the tray. Is this an easy to get at item if I remove the battery or am I looking at something more serious?

Well, happy ending I hope. After a cup or two of tea I removed the battery again and managed to tease the nut into a position where I could insert an 8mm bolt to lift and "persuade " it into the correct position. Inserted the clamp and tilted it out of the way. Battery back and car started so I'm happy.

The lesson learnt here is don't trust You Tube videos! I looked at one that showed the clamp being removed. This is unnecessary as I should have realised. It is a tight fit in there and it is useful to have someone to hold back the positive clamp though.

Just to report that no more warnings have turned up and the Mercedes Me is operating much better. Stop/Start is now operating again but only intermittently. I guess it's time to change the aux battery.

On the You Tube video I watched I should have been suspicious when he said to be carefull about getting an electric shock from a 12 Volt battery.
