Is there a procedure available to avoid coding loss when using an OBD scanner (Icarsoft) ?
I appreciate that Star does it.
I do not want to visit main dealer.

How do you mean coding loss?
Memory loss.
Inasmuch ability to store current memory & transmit it when new battery fitted.

Just connect another 12V battery to the connections under the bonnet when you change the battery to save on settings

(Just remember the +ve lead is still live when you take it off the old battery so don’t let it touch the.bodywork…)

The only possible memory loss when changing a battery without using the method in the above post is the windows and sunroof may need resetting.
A simple job if required.

Whatever you do, do NOT connect a 12V battery to the OBD port, Halfrauds did that to my S204, cost 2 days of hassle and they had to refund the £175 it cost at my indie to undo the damage they'd done!!
