Mercedes E280 Elegance1997.

Hello again,
I wondered if anyone could shed some light on this matter.
Usually when when I get in the car and turn the ignition on, all the lights come up i.e. (abs/handbrake/ETS/SRS/etc) turn key again and car starts, but over the last couple of weeks some times theses lights do not come on and the car wont start. I have to wait a few minutes then try again and all seems to be ok, but today the Battery Charge indicator came up on the LCD display. I have looked at the battery and to be honest it looks fairly new, and I am also wondering if theses are connected? I would appreciate any feedback on this, as I can only see this getting worse not better.

Thanks
Stuieb

The ignition switch is a common problem for the car not starting, when displaying your symptons. I do not think that you have a battery problem. Is the charge indicator on when it is running all the time.

hi television
sorry about the delay, gettin post back on away from computor for a few days.
In answer to your question, no it is not on all the time, so this might indicate an ignition switch problem.
Would you know if this are easy to fix, and the most important issue are they pricey??
Thanks for your time

It is a plug in that you can do yourself if you have some knowledge of cars. I think they cost £58, Please note that I can only advise you of the common faults, checking with a voltmeter would confirm the fault.
