W212 220cdi 16 reg 130000miles

Does anyone know the location of the block heater and if it is a problem with battery drain when it fails.. About 4amp when car has gone to sleep..
Is it like the w211 and located between starter motor and manifold. And can be disconnected and taped up.
Can it be disconrctef from the pre fuse box if that is were its coming from
Any help would be good

W211 heater is in air duct/dash. I believe W212 is similar... but I think draw would be higher if heater is even partially shorted. Pull fuses and measure if you can't get fault codes (and codes not always show it anyway).

Are you talking about the cabin heater.
Im on about the block heater which gives boost to warming up coolent. From what i read block heater was a big problem with w211 and other models but cant get any info for the w212 220cdi

There is no standard/factory fitted block/coolant heater in W211. Elctric heater (only diesels) is in air duct. Same in W212 AFAIK.

Last models with coolant/block heaters were W203/W210.

Of course you can install a coolant heater afterwards, I do have one in both C219 and W212.
