Battery size

Hi everyone, I own a 1986- 190e. 2 ltr,injection (in beautiful condition).It has a raidio cassette with a 10. c/d. player with amplifier,also a in car telephone, electric windows,sun roof and so on.Could anyone please advise me on the most powerfull battery I can fit without damageing any other electrics. My present battery was put on by the "AA"(12V/62Ah) and does not seem up to the job.Thank You...Best Regards,geoff..:confused:

Any 12 volt battery will work and won't damage anything. The new battery may, of course, be struggling because the charging circuit is below par. I'd check this before replacing the battery

The limitation will be the physical size. I'd call your local dealer, gice them the chassis number of your car and ask them if they have a battery from a 190 2.5 diesel and will it fit. Assuming the battery tray is the same size it'll fit and will probably be the biggest battery (in A/H capacity) that you can fit

Whether you buy it from a dealer or a parts place is up to you. I've had MB batteries last 10 years but they cost more than parts place batteries

Not quite on topic, but the battery in my E class is scary large, boat size in fact. As long as the battery fits on the correct place then it will work fine, bigger the better i say!!

I just bought an Exide battery for my car. A WD96TE I think.

As Bolide say, the battery won't matter if the charging circuit isn't keeping up with the power you are using...I often wonder why people drive around with their fog lights and headlights on during the day?
