battery warning light

I have just charged my battery and my brother put the connectors on the wrong way round and now the battery warning light will not go out can some one help.

probably blown the reglator on the alternator?

check it is charging (13.5 volts at battery with engine running) - if thats all that has gone you are very lucky...

see the thread somewhere on 'crossed jumpstart'

how do i fix this is it just a mater of putting a new alternator on if so can anyone recommend where I can get one from don't care about cost as I will not be paying for it.
