I'm not saying all sellers are like this one was but be very careful as we had a customer bring this to us yesterday to have it installed. It is clearly badly damaged and one would suspect as it seems to have been removed from a car in a hurry, stolen! Needless to say we declined and referred him back to the 'fence' (sorry, seller);) Cant say who exactly as I suspect there will be some further action. Just be careful when looking for 'Navi' parts on ebay overseas.

Just out of curosity Alfi, as your Command systems are after-sales, do they affect the MB Warrantee or servicePlus contract? i.e. are the stealers likely to say that as it's not been fitted as standard if anything else electrical goes wrong it's because of the command unit being fitted?

No the warranty is unaffected in much the same way as having any other stereo system fitted. The dealers will obviously not warrant the unit we fit (we will warant it though). Retro fitting a comand does not alter the vehicles wiring at all. We do not cut any wires. We simply insert a loom adapter and install/calibrate the unit.

Interesting subject, there is always one guy from Romainia always selling them.

Isnt that where all of the stolen cars and bits end up.

Hi I am lookong for a comand unit for my c220 2001 (new shape) - I have looked on ebay and prices range from £299 upwards - what is involved in fitting one other than removing existing radio etc - do they need programming by MB . Thanks Jon

Centre dash removal, Loom adapter or wire cutting, antennae installation in suitable place, Testing, reassembly, calibration, cluster coding. Then training.

You take a chance on ebay. Or you use a reputable company who offer a warranty. Its your choice.

Lost on the A303 :o)
Whenever I think of ebay, I wonder if it is like a virtual pirate bay where pirates hide their ships in a storm. Why is it called ebay exactly? E-bay?

Its called ebay because the owner, who originally ran a one man band consulting firm, which was called Echo Bay Technology Group wanted to get into auction websites and went to register Echobay.com and it was already taken - so he went for Ebay instead !

Thanks to Google !
