We've been playing around installing a Becker sat nav system and have come across something that's a bit strange

when we switch the unit off and turn off the ignition the unit continues to make a bit of noise. It sounds a bit like a CD motor still spinning or an internal cooling fan - do these units have one fitted?

Is this normal behaviour or is something not quite right?

If it's normal - how long before the unit switches itself off completely?

If it's not normal - any ideas on the fault?

The ISO connectors are all correct and have been triple checked by two people.

Cheers

I had same issue and it was normal. The disk seems to move and make noises but only when the car is unlocked and opened (Maybe it energises system). Never seems to have an adverse effect though

tee hee - cheers,

but how do you know it only does it when the car is unlocked?

It's a bit like the fridge door/light question :)
